Meet Our Infectious Disease Specialists

B. Mark Landrum, M.D.

B. Mark Landrum, M.D.Dr. Landrum received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Maryland Medical System.

Dr. Landrum is Board Certified in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine. His areas of interest include general Infectious Diseases, HIV care, and travel health.

He serves as the Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Howard County General Hospital and is the physician leader for epidemiology and infection prevention for the Johns Hopkins community hospitals.

Angela Kopack, M.D.

kopackDr. Kopack received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Maryland Medical System.

Dr. Kopack is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. Her particular area of interest is general Infectious Diseases.

Eyad Cheikh, M.D.

cheikhDr. Cheikh received his medical degree from the University of Damascus School of Medicine. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, and finished his fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Carilion Clinic in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Cheikh is Board Certified in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine. His areas of interest include general Infectious Diseases, HIV care, and infection control.

Mihaela Carter, M.D.

Mihaela Carter, M.D.Dr. Carter received her MD degree from University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iuliu Hatieganu, Romania, and then went on the do her internal medicine training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine- Jacobi Medical Center, in Bronx, NY.

She completed an Infectious Disease fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible in Infectious Disease.

Dr. Carter specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with a variety of infections from infective endocarditis to osteomyelitis, HIV, hepatitis B and C, and many more. She has an interest in general Infectious Diseases.

Robert W. Ross, M.D.

Robert W. Ross, M.D.Dr. Ross received his medical degree from the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon.  He completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Maryland Medical System.  Dr. Ross completed his training with an Infectious Diseases fellowship at the National Institutes of Health.

While at the NIH, Dr. Ross was part of the research programs at the NIAID HIV research clinic and the Vaccine Research Center. His areas of interest are HIV care, orthopedic infections and general Infectious Diseases.

Prashanth Santhekadur, M.D.

Dr. SanthedadurDr. Santhekadur received his medical degree from Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College in Kolar, India. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at a facility affiliated with Michigan State University, McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint Michigan.

Dr. Santhekadur completed his training with an Infectious Diseases fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. His area of interest is general Infectious Diseases.

Sara Taherkhani, M.D.

Sara Taherkhani, M.D.Dr. Taherkhani received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. She completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA before going on to complete her fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Drexel University School of Medicine-Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Taherkhani is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. Her areas of interest are HIV Medicine, General Infectious Diseases, Hepatitis C and Travel Medicine.
